The optional lamination offered means that the card is laminated with a protective film which protects the card’s surface from wear and tear. The lamination also helps print to remain bright and not to pale over time.

Q & A
How does an RFID card work?
Radio Frequency Identification Cards also referred to as RFID cards is a form of contactless transfer of information using radio waves. The card contains a chip which interacts and ‘communicates’ with a transmitter once it has been programmed by an RFID reader/writer. Once the cards are programmed, they can transfer or transmit a lot of different types of information.
RFID cards are often used as hotel key cards. Each door in the hotel has a small RFID reader in each door lock. When a guest checks in, a card is programmed to a particular door number and is valid to open that door for the duration of the stay.
How do magnetic stripe cards work?
Magnetic strip cards, also known as magnetic swipe cards, contain a strip of magnetic tape on the back of the card. This magnetic strip contains tracks which are used to store certain coded data. The magnetic strip is programmed by a reader/writer which encodes the data onto the strip. This reader/writer technology can also erase the card and encode new data as needed. When swiped, software uses the data saved onto the magnetic strip to access the information such as employee credentials or a credit card number for example.
